- Michael Francis Barry is a Maine native and graduated from the
former Fox School of Photography in Portland, Maine.
- He is the resident Artist at the Portland Head Light, one of the most
famous lighthouses in North America.
- Michael has specialized in Night and Time Exposure Photography
since 1984.
- He is internationally renowned for his Maritime Photography.
- Michael creates his own Set Designs, Period Costumes and also uses props on location
to best
illustrate his unique Fine Art Images.
- He authors his stories and poems based upon actual
events and folklore accounts passed down through time.
- Michael also handmade his own Large Format 8 x 10 Camera, pictured above.
- All of his images are created using light sensitive 8” x 10”
Photographic Film.
- The “Spirits From The Past” series are
all done on location and are historically accurate to the
time period illustrated.
- No Photoshop computerized
techniques are used in the overall creation of these images.
