  • Michael Francis Barry is a Maine native and graduated from the former Fox School of Photography in Portland, Maine.
  • He is the resident Artist at the Portland Head Light, one of the most famous lighthouses in North America.
  • Michael has specialized in Night and Time Exposure Photography since 1984.
  • He is internationally renowned for his Maritime Photography.
  • Michael creates his own Set Designs, Period Costumes and also uses props on location to best illustrate his unique Fine Art Images.
  • He authors his stories and poems based upon actual events and folklore accounts passed down through time.
  • Michael also handmade his own Large Format 8 x 10 Camera, pictured above.
  • All of his images are created using light sensitive 8” x 10” Photographic Film.
  • The “Spirits From The Past” series are all done on location and are historically accurate to the time period illustrated.
  • No Photoshop computerized techniques are used in the overall creation of these images.
